In November 2019, Blizzard announced Overwatch 2 a new sequel to their 2016 shooter smash it Overwatch.
Overwatch 2 will have new games modes, the most hyped one will be the story mode which players will have PVE missions to do, there will be also new characters and visual updates on old ones and an improved engine providing better graphics than the original Overwatch game, all your content from Overwatch will be shared to Overwatch 2, that means all the progress you have made in Overwatch will carry over to the second game.
Overwatch 2 will be introducing also a new game mode called Push and will arrive in all queues including quick play, ranked and Overwatch League matches, Push is a 6v6 mode that requires players to escort a neutral robot that pushes barriers to win the match, Rather than have an offense and defense, both teams are competing to push a cart in either direction.Points are given based on how far teams get the robot down markers.
The robot resembles a payload but can move in either direction toward a friendly or enemy goal location. Like the payload, however, the robot won’t move if both teams are nearby. Players will have to eliminate their opponents before the robot will begin marching forward. If the robot is recaptured by the enemy team, it’ll turn around and begin moving in the opposite direction.
The first team to have the robot push their barrier the full distance wins the match.
Push maps are symmetrical to avoid giving one team an advantage over the other. Each team will have to push their respective barrier the same distance through the same streets to win the game. The new multiplayer game mode will debut with the first map to be based in Toronto, named after the city.
Overwatch 2 will also have now Hero progression, now players will be allowed to level up their favorite heroes and empower them with new ” Talents” to play in PVE, this feature won’t have any effect on PVP modes, Talents will allow players to customize their own heroes for different play styles in PVE mode.
Blizzard stated that Echo was the last hero coming out to Overwatch the next heroes coming out will be on Overwatch 2 that means that all the new heroes coming out after echo we will be able to play them on Overwatch 2 already, one of the new heroes will be Sojourn
The release date of the game was not given yet from Blizzard but we expect to be up and ready to play in 2021! Overwatch 2 is coming!
